Familiar Faces
All non-clinical staff (Secretaries and Receptionists) and attached clinical staff, District Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors from both surgeries will also be working at Tavyside Health Centre too, so you will still see those familiar faces.
Tavistock’s Sure Start Children’s Centre
Tavistock’s Sure Start Children’s Centre will be moving from Kilworthy Park to its own dedicated part of the building at Tavyside Health Centre.
A place for you and your child to get help and support
Sure Start Children’s Centres are places where families with children under 5 years old can access services & get help and support. Whether you are a mum, dad, grandparent, carer or childminder you are welcome to come to the children’s centre & join the groups and activities or benefit from services & activities ranging from Baby Clinics and Baby Massage to ‘drop-in’ times where children can play, get creative or have a sing. Staff are on hand to offer advice, support and information on all aspects of parenting and can signpost parents/carers to other organisations to get advice on health, employment and financial issues.

Building work has already begun for Tavyside Health Centre at Abbey Rise and we hope to be finished by late Autumn 2010. During the building works, patients attending Stannary Surgery may experience some inevitable noise and inconvenience. The partners wish to apologise for this in advance, and hope it is understood that this disturbance to routine is a necessary means to an end! Once Tavyside Health Centre is completed, the old Stannary building will be demolished to create additional car-parking spaces.
